Circle Time
We use small group circle times daily to help children develop their personal, social and emotional skills. These are tailored to children’s ages and stages of development and encourage the children to become confident in sharing their own thoughts and opinions in small groups.
Continuous Provision
We follow a daily routine as children learn best through routine and repetition.
We have daily mark-making, malleable and sand play, construction, a small world section, a home corner, dressing up, and a reading area.
Our small world resources are rotated to fit in with children’s current interests and we have a role play area that is changed regularly. We also do lots of special seasonal activities.
Healthy Eating
Our 3rd in Charge, Kaitlyn, is responsible for ensuring healthy eating at Pre-School. We regularly send home guidance and information for parents to help them with providing their child the best nutrition possible. Our provided daily snacks adhere to government guidance around healthy eating in early years settings.
Outdoor Play
Our garden area is adjacent to our main playroom, which allows the children to free-flow and choose to learn outdoors. The outdoor provision aims to mirror the indoor, with many of the same areas translated into the outdoors. Our balancing equipment and physical activities promote the development of gross motor skills.
EYFS
Pre-School follows the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory requirements, which we have use to create our own curriculum for teaching the children.
We have a wide range of policies and procedures to ensure we meet all welfare requirements. Our curriculum has been developed to meet all the learning requirements.
We share the curriculum with our parents as children join and they have the opportunity to meet regularly with their child’s key person to discuss their child’s development.
